Comments: In general the machine is what is expected. Acceptable workmanship all around. I have been using the machine for a long time daily 30 minutes at a good pace. I have previously a similar machine from a competitor that finally I wore out. I consider the cross country style machine the best exercise machines and the ones that I do not get bored with it. On the previous machine I put more than 3000 (ciber) miles. In other words, I use these machines a lot. The Nordictrack requires more preventive maintenance than my previous one from the competition. The most disappointed part (I was not expecting it from NordicTrack)is the set up for the friction on the top reel (arm resistence). this is a Mickey Mouse set up. The leather friction pad never stays on position and you are continously losing your adjustment. The friction is not constant when you set it on. This mechanism can be improved a lot. I finally modified the mechanism and it is working a little better and more constant. The other awful thing is the computer recording the exercise performance. Many times in the middle of the excercise it goes blank and reset itself. Another times, at the start of the exercise, it does not zero in, but sometimes it goes ahead and stop at nine seconds, so I can not synchronize it with my Polar heart monitor (I do not use the monitor that comes with the machine). The problem is that I keep a very strict record of my daily exercise with heart beats, blood pressure, and performance. I have been doing this for over 25 years. I am trying to keep my genetics at bay and cross country exercise has been the best for me. In spite of this effort, I still, two years ago, had by pass intervention. I am 60 now, but I believe that I delayed this matter for some years due to these machines. Two days ago I have a stress test and everything went well. I am in very good shape and always have reached stage 5 on this test due to the workouts on these machines. It is the best aerobic and most gentle exercise you can do. I combine
