Comments: I've owned a second generation Nordic Eliptical for 10 years. It was by far basic. Computer, input age/weight etc, with the heartbeat ear clip. For 10 years I enjoyed this piece of equipment until I started hearing a squealing noise. Unfortunately Nordic told me the bearings were failing and it was not replacable. We finally decided to upgrade to the AudioStrider 990 Pro bringing ourselves into the new milenium. WOW! We enjoy the quiet smooth motion and the training options that come with the machine. I am however disapoined in the onboard computer. I mean it's 2010, can we not have a nice color screen? The screen is monochrome green and at times displays blotchy lines and graphic flaws. Just not a clean crisp output for all graphics. Is it functional? Certainly is but I'd like a better cleaner color screen. I'm not enitrely happy with the new hearbeat monitor. Bring back the clip or a wireless option again would be absolutely welcomed I think. The water bottle holder is in a really awkward position especially considering my height of 6ft. I like to grab the bottle while continuing my workout. I don't have the sense of being able to do so without in it's current position. I feel I have to stop and take a water break. The Fan option while nice is loud and cannot be adjusted. Just blows at my stomach. Would be nice to have a little breeze on my face. While we enjoy the quiet motion of the eliptical, silence suddenly breaks when the motor for the Power Intensity Ramp (tm) starts up. I thought something was broken for a moment. Certainly not and the machine functions well as designed. Just a bit too loud for my liking. Overall the I feel this piece of equipment has a superior look and feel to my second generation Nordic Eliptical. The quality of the workout is far superior to my second generation Elipse and works the body much better. It gives a strong feeling of gym quality. I enjoy the fact that now there are many more replacement parts if something were to go wrong.
