The benefits of exercising on an exercise bike are endless. And once you have come to the conclusion that you’re ready to take your fitness to a new level and invest in your own bike for your home, you may be asking yourself the same question as everyone else: “What is the best exercise bike for home use?”
See for yourself:
“Peloton versus NordicTrack. Which bike is right for you to help you reach your fitness goals?
My name is John Peel, and I am a personal trainer. I get asked a question all of the time, “Between the NordicTrack and Peloton, what should I buy?” In full disclosure, I am one of the iFit trainers you can train with on the NordicTrack S22i, and I want to give you my perspective as a personal trainer.
So, what is the real difference between these two premium bikes?
Peloton offers live and on-demand classes from New York City that stream to your bike, as well as some point-of-view footage of road workouts and off bike after-the-ride workouts.
NordicTrack offers on-demand studio class experience that streams to your bike. You also get full-body workout content including HIIT workouts, yoga, bare classes, strength training, and more. But the big difference is that on the NordicTrack, your trainer takes your workout to the best places on earth to give you the best workout experience, so you can burn calories climbing the Swiss Alps or racing through the red rocks of southern Utah. Turns out there is a whole world outside of a cycling studio in New York City.
Peloton has a large HD 22 inch touchscreen that pivots up and down. NordicTrack also has a large HD 22 inch touchscreen that pivots up and down. But unlike Peloton, the NordicTrack screen is on an articulating arm that gives a better viewing experience for your total-body workouts.
Peloton has built a sturdy bike with a manual knob to adjust resistance. NordicTrack has also built a sturdy bike, but instead of turning a knob to adjust the resistance, you can make precise adjustments at the touch of a button. And even better yet during your workout, your trainer automatically adjusts incline and decline of your bike – giving you a truly immersive experience.
When you twist the knob on a Peloton bike, how much resistance is enough resistance? With the NordicTrack S22i, your trainer takes the guesswork out by automatically adjusting the resistance for you.
NordicTrack offers you an experience where you won’t have to imagine climbing a hill, but actually feel the bike incline as you climb the mountain with your trainer.
Peloton has built some nice stat tracking into their bike. NordicTrack has also built some nice stat tracking into their bike.
Peloton allows you to adjust the seat post and saddle. NordicTrack also allows you to adjust the seat post and saddle.
Peloton does not have a fan. NordicTrack has a fully adjustable workout fan conveniently integrated right into the console.
NordicTrack also has an integrated HDMI port allowing you to view your workout on a large external screen.
Here are a few things to look for when you compare the two bikes:
First, compare Peloton’s price. Be sure to note what is included and what is not included. Pay attention to shipping, warranty, and the cost of a one-year membership.
Then go NordicTrack.com and total the same options that Peloton offers: the bike, shipping, warranty, and one-year membership. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the value you get from NordicTrack.
I hope I have assisted you to make a decision on which bike will help you get the fitness results you’re after. I would love to have you in our NordicTrack community because I have created some great workouts around the world that I know you will love.”
