I may not be the best to judge since this is the first treadmill I've ever bought or even used. The construction of this machine is great. If there is ever a tornado, I'll sit on the treadmill under the console instead of going to the basement. The machine is quite heavy and very difficult for one person to unload from a pickup truck, get in the house, and assemble but it can be done. The wiring harness that has to be plugged in is so short it really makes you question the common sense of the designer. It wouldn't have cost anymore to make that harness an inch longer. What were they thinking. I guess if you had a second person there helping you, the extra 1/100 of an inch they gave you would have been plenty. Oh well, you only have to put it together once. As far as the treadmill function goes, I'd say it works well. The cushioning is excellent. I'm a bit surprised at how much the speed varies though. When I'm walking on it and in a nice constant stride, I can hear the motor slow down and speed up as I go forward then backwards on the track. This is a very minor issue but since I work in the electronic industry, I know the speed regulation could be much better. The fan is a nice feature but could be more powerfull. When I read the sales literature, I thought the sound system would be top of the line. It sounds slightly better that the AM car radios of the sixties. It doesn't sound as nice as any decent car audio today. Overall I'd say this is a very good treadmill and would give it a 98 out of 100. The only thing keeping it from getting 100 is the speed regulation. It is not a good stereo system or fan. Buy your own headphones for your MP3 player and a fan and enjoy the treadmill.
