this machine is bigger than I expected. I saw some good reviews online so I decided to try it without seeing it in the store. The space saver design is pretty cool and it doesn't take much effort to fold. Pulling the pin to lower it is a little difficult but I'm sure that's so kids won't pull it and get pinned under the machine. for me it's really not too tough to pull. Belt is long enough for me to run as fast as I want without hitting the end. I'm not very tall but I'm sure it would handle someone at least six inches taller than me. I'm 6' 0". Even at the stiffest setting the deck still has pretty good cushioning. I had my wife bounce on it a little and you could definately see the deck give a little. (she's not heavy). I'm sure it helps protect my joints. I've told all my neighbors about it. The guy accross the street has a commercial treadmill and he thought mine had much better cushioning. We measured the belts to compare them and my belt is just as long and just as wide as his. pretty good deal. Thanks Nordictrack
