Comments: I received my Audiostrider 990 about a week ago and I've used it about 4 times so far. This elliptical is extremely heavy. It's a really substantial machine and has a good feel when you are using it. It took longer than expected to put together but it was not difficult, just tedious. I love the power incline feature, the adjustable foot pedals, and how quiet the machine is. The reason I couldn't give it 4 stars is because it doesn't have built in user profiles included. I had to ask customer service how the console calculates calories if you don't put in user height and weight. They said it calculates calories based on a 170 lb user. That means, for me, when it says I've burned 200 calories, I've really burned much less because I only weigh 140 lbs. If you want more accurate calorie counts then you have to purchase the iFIT which allows you to add up to four user profiles. I just wish this was explained better BEFORE I purchased the machine. Paying the extra money for the iFIT is necessary if you want accurate calorie counts during your workout. Also, the stride length adjusts with the change in incline, you cannot adjust it yourself. Just something else I had to call and ask customer service about because the description for the machine wasn't very clear. Regardless of those two issues, I do believe this is a great machine and a good value for the money. It includes features (like the power incline) that are hard to find on other machines in this price range. The fan and ipod/iphone/android plug in is nice and the speakers sound good. Overall, I would recommend this elliptical to others and I'm very happy with my purchase. I also hope that the extra money I now have to spend on the iFIT is worth it. I guess we'll see!
